Les Vallees House is situated in the centre of the island in the picturesque Talbot Valley.  The main house was built about 175 years ago and the old wing dates back to 1675.

The garden covers about 2 ½ acres, overlooking the Talbot Valley and is mostly wild flowers and cultivated daffodils in the Spring.  There is a vegetable garden and a large fruit cage with raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, blackcurrants and redcurrants.

We use no chemicals on the garden and only natural fertiliser on our vegetables and fruit.  Rabbits abound as we don't allow shooting on the property.

The heated swimming pool (around 80F/27C during the summer) is situated in the main garden and is accessible by cottage guests through a separate gate.  The pool uses salt water and no harmful chemicals.  There is a pool house for changing.  There are loungers, umbrellas and a table and chairs for eating out around the pool.  The pool patio is a rubber compound and much safer than hard stone surfaces.

The grounds sweep down into Talbot Valley and most views are of green fields stretching north and south, sometimes with Guernsey cows.

The island is only 9 by 5 miles and access to the main town, St Peter Port, and all the beaches is just a short journey.  As the island is so small it is easy to find a beach that is sheltered on a windy day.

The other islands, Herm and Sark, are easily accessible by ferry and Alderney by the local airlines.
