Interior

Our aim is to provide guests with a place that feels like a home from home. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated, giving guests a cosy property that has country-style doors and exposed granite walls, whilst still including all the modern amenities you’d expect for a comfortable stay. We have used heritage Farrow & Ball paint throughout the cottage, and have furnished it with a mixture of antique pieces and modern soft furnishings.  Whether you are a couple or a family, the cottage is an ideal base.

The lounge/dining area

This has large windows looking out to the walled cottage garden, along with a comfortable 3 seater sofa and armchair - perfect for relaxing after a busy day out exploring. For indoor eating , there is an extendable dining table with four chairs.  For relaxing nights in, or rainy days, there is a TV (with 100+ channel freesat and internet streaming), DVD player with a selection of DVDs, MP3 player, a shelf with a ‘living library’ that offers a range of books for adults and children to browse, borrow, take and replace, and an antique dresser with a selection of board games and jigsaws for all the family

The kitchen

The bright mezzanine kitchen overlooks the lounge/dining area, and is fully equipped with an electric oven with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier and fridge with freezer compartment. There is ample cutlery and crockery, plus picnic ware for outdoor eating.

Bedrooms

There is one double and one twin bedroom in the cottage – both have comfortable, pocket-sprung mattresses, blackout lined curtains and fresh linen on arrival. The double bedroom has a queen-sized bed and also includes a hairdryer in the dressing table.

The new Villeroy & Boch bathroom (which includes a bath with overhead shower, basin, toilet, heated towel rail and travertine tiles) is the perfect place to unwind after an active day.

Amenities

There is free wifi available throughout the property, free oil-fired central heating all year round, and a Welcome pack waiting for you on your arrival which contains your choice of wine, milk, bread and butter, plus eggs, tea, coffee and sugar. All items are locally sourced where possible.
